Sound Of Silence

It was quiet in the dimly lit Library, the cold air being locked out by the windows but yet a shiver ran through the young man's body. It was only by chance that he had grabbed his scarf on the way out of the common room, wrapping it tightly across his neck and burying his face into the fold. The tip of his ears, which were peeking out from his dark brown hair, was turning pink and he was beginning to wonder if he should cast a warming charm.

With a soft sigh he ran his fingers along the spine of the books currently settled into the bookcase, a soft look on his face that was rarely seen by anyone other than family. Pausing when he reached the book he needed he pulled it off, rubbing his hand over the cover before peeling it back to examine the contents. Yes, this was the one.

Pleased with the book he had required he made his way out of the aisle, weaving through the few students who had chosen to spend their lunch break in the library to find a table that wasn't already occupied. He had sent his owl, Apollo, with a letter to Polly informing her of where he was so she could come and study with him.

Studying always seemed to move along faster when he had his twin sister with him and he couldn't deny he did enjoy her company.

Look Description: Alex has longer than average hair that hangs just below his shoulders. He often forgoes styling his hair and therefore it either hangs around his head loosely, or he ties it up in a bun that sits at the back of his head. He has quite a tanned skinned which he inherited from his fathers side of the family and a trait that he shares with his sister.

Dressing Style: Alex enjoys dressing up in suits and while a few of his suits are muggle made, which he often pushes aside, he find the muggle made suits more comfortable than wizarding robes. He often chooses clothes that are dull in colour, preferring grey, navy and black to bright colours. The only piece of jewelry that he wears frequently is a golden watch that has been passed down through the family and given to him by his grandpa Thomas.


Personality

Character Description: Alex prides himself on being rather intelligent and often seeks out books to further his knowledge in subjects that appeal to him. He isn't very sociable in the sense that he doesn't often go out of his way to meet new people, however he does enjoy spending time with his friends and family. Alex is very protective over his sister and prides himself on having a strong relationship with her.

Background:

Alex was born as a twin to Selene and Eilian in an house on the estate where his grandfather and grandmother's manor house resides. Being so close to his grandfather and grandmother Alex and his sister were brought up with Pure blood customs which led him to believe in the purist allegiance. Having lived in a rather large manor, it was easy for him and his sister to roam around and find themselves in new nooks and crannies. They would often go on adventurers to find new parts of their house but soon become bored when they had found every secret they could find.

Alex often went to stay with his Grandfather and Grandmother in their manor house to learn about anything and everything they wished to tell him about. It was during his time here that he often snuck away to the library, finding a small area to curl up to read. He was often found by his sister who would give him an amused look before being dragged away to entertain her.

It was thrilling to get his letter to Hogwarts, finally able to go to a school and learn even more about the magical world. Of course he already had some base knowledge, taught by his grandparents and parents alike, but to be able to be taught by teachers was something that really excited him. The excitement grew when his father took him and his sister to Diagon Alley to buy all of their supplies for the school year, trying and failing to get his father to buy objects he didn't quite need.

Once the twins had gotten to Hogwarts they automatically assumed that they would be put into the same house, it being Slytherin like their father and mother. It came as a shock when Alex was put into Ravenclaw instead, having sat on the stool with the hat over his head for a good minute after it had been called out. It was only when he felt the light push to his back that he stumbled his way towards his house table, shooting a sad smile towards his sister who was currently sat on the Slytherin table.

The years passed and Alex and Apollymi grew even more closer, despite being in different houses, and found that they thrived in Hogwarts. When one of them didn't understand something the other would come along and explain it to them, they worked together flawlessly.
