Arwen was bought up in a mostly loving family, her father was always brewing new potions in his room; the room having an array of different smells each day. Her mother worked in a little shop where she made wands, helping her children find the wand for them when it was time for them to get one. All in all, it was a nice, cosy family, if it wasn’t for the fact that her parents were pro-muggle.
Her grandfather, Jamie Neart, detested muggleborns and muggles, and was ashamed when his only son turned his back on the purist ideal to look on pulling muggles and wizards together. This view was taken by most of Arwens other family members, instantly loosing half of her family for something she had no choice in making. The only family members that stood by her family, who often were looked down on by other members, were her second cousins Jethro, Juliet and Jaime.
Having little family other than her parents and second cousins, she forged a close bond with her cousins and especially Jethro who taught her sword fighting. This quickly became one of the sports she thoroughly enjoyed and would visit her cousin in Wales to be taught different tactics, soon becoming better than Jethro. When she learnt that her cousin was to go into Astronomy she was devastated, her other two cousins seemed to have a falling out with Jethro, over what she didn’t know, and therefore Arwen hardly saw them.
While her cousin was off studying the stars she self-taught herself and her little brother, hoping to impress her cousin once he returned. Her parents encouraged the behaviour, glad that the siblings were growing closer rather than growing apart.
While she did grow up with pro-muggle parents, Arwen never wished to take a side and always stuck to being neutral, further infuriating her grandparents who had hoped she would know better. Still she was happy with the choice that she had made as she had been the one to make it, not her grandparents nor her parents.
Once she turned 11 she was excited to receive her Hogwarts letter, rushing around to grab her school supplies and to head to the castle. Once she was there she was thrilled at being sorted into Ravenclaw house, not seeing herself as someone who was all that smart but happy to be in the house of bronze and blue.
Her first three years flew by and she was getting better at reading the stars and kept up her love of sword fighting. She was even more thrilled when her cousin started Hogwarts as a professor, always looking forward to going to Astronomy class. Soon her third year came to an end and she was soon to be started her fourth. What was even more exciting was that her younger brother would be starting Hogwarts too, she just hoped that he would enjoy his time here as she had.
