As much as Christian had come to love Hogwarts, he still hated it for this. It had been summer vacation for almost a week and he still hadn’t managed to sleep in past seven. His parents thought it was hilarious, even as he whined about how much he missed being able to sleep in until well into the afternoon when he was younger. His dad had already been through and left for work and he could hear his mom up and moving around upstairs as he sacked out on the couch and flipped the TV on.
He’d missed the TV a lot for his first couple of years at Hogwarts, but he rather hated the fact that now it just felt like a waste of time. Like he should be up doing something productive, even if he couldn’t think of what that should be. The sound of something tapping on the window confused him for a second and he looked up only to see an owl sitting on the windowsill; staring at him as though he’d done something wrong.
With a confused mutter, he pushed himself to his feet and crossed to the window to open it and let the bird in. As soon as the glass was out of the way, the little bird hopped forward and held out his food. For the life of him, Christian couldn’t think of who would have been writing him – most of the people he knew, and would want to hear from, would have just called him over the break.
Once he’d taken the message that was fastened to its leg, the bird turned and leapt into the sky again, soaring away. Christian opened the envelope curiously, only to let out a surprised yelp as he saw what was in it; he’d completely forgotten that he’d sent away for them. Rushing back to the couch to pull his shoes on, he called up to his mum, “I’m heading over to see Emma! Back in a little bit!”
He was already on his way out the door before her reminder came of just how early it was. Mr. Edward’s car wasn’t in the drive so he grabbed the key from its hiding spot and let himself into his girlfriend’s house. A quick look around showed him that she wasn’t downstairs yet, so he bounded up the steps and pushed into her bedroom. He smiled as he spotted her still sleeping and dropped onto the mattress next to her.
“Hello!” he greeted loudly. Emmaline Edwards

Christian was tired. It didn't make sense for him to be tired. Flying around on a broom - while a nearly mandatory wizardly thing - didn't seem like the sort of thing that should leave him winded. Really, he was just sitting on a stick - that shouldn't have been hard. And yet, after every practice, organized or not, he dragged his butt back into the common room and collapsed on the floor by one of the couches.
This time, he'd very nearly given it a pass - it hadn't been an actual team practice, but he'd felt the need to get out and do some flying on his own just to keep in shape. The weather had responded by starting a gently misting rain that turned rapidly to a blinding sleet storm. Changing clothes, and probably a shower, had been the first thing on his mind until he'd seen the fire in the fireplace.
It was going almost all the time. It seemed silly when it was getting near summer. But at the moment... it was a miracle. He slumped onto the warm stones of the hearth and groaned a miserable sigh of relief as his eyes drifted shut and he just soaked in the heat.Emmaline Edwards

Christian was born and raised in the muggle world. Accordingly, it came as a massive shock when his Hogwarts letter arrived. He was beyond excited when he arrived at Hogwarts. He avoided any of the stereotypes of the Houses when going in since he literally knew nothing about the school, and the Sorting Hat quickly sent him on to Hufflepuff.
He quickly learned that settling into a brand new world wasn’t going to be as easy as he’d thought it was going to be. The magical world was so, so far behind the muggle world in terms of interconnectedness and technology that it was a massive culture shock every time he went home and came back. It still hasn’t evened out for him, which bothers him just a little as the end of his school career is racing toward him at breakneck speed and he’s going to be expected to know what he wants to do with the rest of his life.
