Lilli had her board in hand. She’d already gotten caught twice trying to ride it inside. But there was nowhere else to ride it! She knew better than to look for somewhere outside. There was grass, water, gravel, and all that, but none of that was good for boarding. She’d tried. Normally, she’d have had some fun getting outside, but with Professor Donnelly watching her, she couldn’t. Then again, at least it was Donnelly. She was one of the more chill teachers around.

So now she was outside with no idea of what to do. Putting her board on the ground near the step to the entrance hall, she sat on it. She moved slowly back and forth. She really wished the school would put in a skate park. Apparently, for all of their muggle-friendly claims, they didn’t take boarding into account. Did these people even know what actual concrete was? Ugh!

Hey! Wait a minute! What was that? Oh, never mind. That was just some over-dramatic princess breaking up with her prince. It happened more than she wanted to know. Even overhearing things like that had gotten boring. She was just tired of school altogether. Granted, she would be done in only a couple of short months, but that still felt like forever away. On the good side, she found out how she should go about achieving her dream. Apparently, all she really needed to do was find a job in a shop to learn how to manage a business. Then, she just needed money to rent or buy a shop and get inventory. So, her dream was an even longer time coming.

She sighed, getting discouraged by the thoughts running through her head.

Lilli was on the warpath. Jason had been ignoring her since they’d gotten back to school. Yes, she had told his cousin about how she feared he was treated at home. She’d let him ignore her as long as now in hopes that he would get over his anger at her, or his embarrassment, or whatever the issue was.

The problem she had was that she missed him. He was one of her closest friends. She’d only told because she’d been worried about him. It seemed as if she’d been right to worry if his ignoring her was any indication.

She was looking for him though. She’d looked everywhere except for his favorite spot. She’d hated the library with its oppressive silence. But now she had no choice. She went in. She looked for him and finally saw him.

Without a word, she grabbed his sleeve and pulled at him until he stood to follow her. She led him out of the library and to an unused classroom.

“I have waited for months for you to talk to me. I’m done waiting. Now talk. Why have you been ignoring me?”

Lilli felt that she’d given Jason plenty of time at home. A week and a half was more than enough time to have written at least once to let her know if his parents had decided to allow him to visit her. Then she realized something very important. They were both muggleborn. Neither one of them had an actual owl. And she hadn’t thought to give him her phone number. She had gotten his address though. She decided to call the Knight Bus. She’d waited until most people were inside for dinner and made her way into an alley and stuck out her wand. She paid the fee and gave her destination.

Trying to hold the contents of her stomach right where they were, she climbed off the bus, a bit wobbly. She took a few deep breaths and stood still until she was sure she wouldn’t be sick. A few minutes after that, she was okay. She started looking for Jason’s home, checking the piece of paper she had in her hand. She grinned when she found the townhouse that matched the address she’d been given. She hoped he’d be home as she ran up to and knocked on the door and waited.

Lillianna Duvall
16 | Gryffindor | Unsure | Single

Blurb: Lilli is unique. She’s not very girly though she is learning how to put on the act. She hates the act. She would much prefer to be a what-you-see-is-what-you-get person. She’s blunt to the point of appearing rude, but she never means to be mean or anything. She just doesn’t sugar-coat her opinions.

Looking for: Friends, enemies, in-between, possibly crushes
Friends: Lilli has a hard time making friends with other girls. The constant giggling annoys her. She’s not totally boy-crazy either, though she does have eyes and can see when someone his hot, no matter the gender. She makes guy friends easier, simply because that is what she’s used to.
Enemies: She’s sure some exist somewhere, but doesn’t much care about it.
Other: She doesn’t mind having acquaintances and would love someone to hang out and skateboard with. As for crushes, Lilli hasn’t really been too into the relationship thing, but she is curious as to what the big deal is.

Family and History

Father: Robert Duvall (alias, but she doesn’t know that)
Mother: Caraline Williamson
Siblings: None

Pet: None

Background: Product of seduction. Mother made sure she had her father's last name as a reminder of her own old-fashioned shame. Even though Lillianna was kept by her mother, her mother never cared to see her. This makes it easy for Lilli to do what she wants, when she wants. She’s always taken full advantage of this fact.

Due to lack of money, Lilli and Caraline live with Caraline's parents, who also aren't too fond of their granddaughter. Lilli is seen as almost nothing but proof of her mother's biggest mistake.

Teachers should feel lucky if they receive homework from her. Starting at Hogwarts did not change this. She’s a gothic slacker. She only cares for a few people, but doesn’t show it much. She’s into skateboarding and wishes she had more time to practice. She’s never had a guiding hand to teach her. Those who have tried to take her in hand usually ended up frustrated enough to give up.

In the building she lived in, most of the other kids were boys a few years older, but after enough tagging along, she kind of became the group's little sister. She's better with sports and other stereotypical guy stuff than she is the girly stuff.

Her first year at Hogwarts passed, mostly unnoticed. She made few friends, but had enough acquaintances to keep her from getting too bored. She didn’t feel as out of place as she feared for long in Gryffindor.

Her summer trip home was everything she hoped for, as well as feared. Her family was the same as ever, barely paying her any attention. Her friends were happy to see their ‘little sister’ and gladly took her back under their collective wing. They enjoyed telling her stories about what she’d missed, and she told as many stories as she could, without breaking the secrecy law.

Her second year at Hogwarts passed a bit more dramatically than her first. Her fellow second years seemed more different than ever to Lilli. If the rest weren’t all into the blood status thing, they were into wanting a girlfriend or boyfriend or something. Sure, Lilli still liked boys, but not in that same way. At the moment, she couldn’t ever imagine seeing boys as anything other than someone to hang out, skateboard, play sports, whatever. She really hoped her third year would be better.

Third year was better. She had a lot of fun pulling pranks, especially on the teachers. She’d even teamed up with a couple of older students once to teach a bully a lesson. That has been a blast! The rest of the year wasn’t worth writing home about much. Since she didn’t care if she got caught, some of the teachers made sure to keep her busy.

Fourth year was just strange. The students in her year were even more into the couple thing. She couldn’t see the appeal. Yeah, sure, she’d felt the beginnings of a flutter in her stomach if she happened to be talking to a really hot guy, but she wasn’t going to let it affect her. Just because she was noticing little differences in her thoughts didn’t mean that she had to change the way she normally behaved. She was pretty sure she’d commit suicide if she ever found herself giggling stupidly as some dude went on and on about how great he was.

Summer started out great. She hung out with her buddies and worked to improve her skills on her skateboard. She’d even met a few new people, dudes her buddies had hung out with during the school year. The only issue she ran into then was that one of the new guys tried to flirt with her but her buddies apparently still saw her as a baby sister. It wasn’t that she’d been interested in the guy. No way! He was the nerdiest guy she’d ever seen around a skatepark, but it was the principle of the matter.

Her fifth year was just as strange as her fourth, but in a different way. First, Jaden had admitted a crush on her, which confused her. Why? She had been kissed by a guy, one of her best school friends actually, but it was nothing but an experiment to see what the big deal was. She still didn’t get it after being kissed, so she shrugged it off and went back to ignoring the whole relationship drama that seemed to surround her. But she didn’t care as long as she wasn’t involved in it. She’d also surprisingly, made a few new friends.

Sixth year passed almost so quickly that she didn't notice. Things happened, but nothing that really affected her. Well, outside of the fact that she met her father and suddenly became the holder of a Gringott's vault, something she'd never had before.

Summer was harder than she was used to. She had met a younger housemate who happened to be a close friend's cousin. Her suspicions led to her writing the girl about her friend. All she knew after that was that Jason was safe with his uncle.

Seventh year came along easily. She could hardly believe that she was almost finished with school. When she graduated, she was at a loss of what to do next.
