Alannah has an innocent look about her, like none of the world’s evil could touch her. This is almost accurate. While not naive in the least, she is quite innocent in the ways of the world. Alannah was born in Ireland, but within a few months, the family moved to London, to be closer to Alice’s sick mother. Alannah’s grandmother died when she was four, but by then, the little family had established themselves. Alannah’s childhood was full of happiness for the most part. The only damper were the strange things that would happen whenever she got overly emotional. She saw that it scared her parents and learned to control her emotions.
At age eleven, Alannah received a letter to Hogwarts. Her parents were glad to know that there was nothing wrong with their daughter, just different. She was relieved as well. After arriving at Hogwarts, she was sorted into Hufflepuff. She spent most of her school years on the outskirts, having just one or two close friends. That was okay though. That was all she needed. She didn’t make waves, nor did she particularly stand out in any way.
Upon graduating, she still had no idea what she wanted to do. The things she liked weren’t easy to turn into a career. While she thought about it, and wanting to be more independent, she got a job working at the Leaky Cauldron directly after school. She enjoyed the job. She was happy to talk to customers. During the downtimes, she would often be seen humming or softly singing to herself as she cleaned up her areas. She was a hard worker, doing whatever she saw needed to be done. It wasn’t long before she’d worked her way up from bussing tables to being part of the waitstaff. She liked that even more. It gave her time to talk to more people, learn their likes and dislikes, and the general orders of the regulars.
