Lachlan Huxley
 Posted: Apr 15 2015, 04:32 PM

Character Name: Lachlan Bane Huxley

Parseltongue: Descending from an old line in Ireland, place unknown and kept secret.

Werewolf: Attacked at age 6, while out with his father, this is the last memory that Lachlan has with his family, his memory of them vague and place where he once lived wiped from his memory.

He was left with only an Identification card, That stated his name, curse, languages, Place of birth (Ireland) and Blood status.

Further details will be in Profile.

Approved. But please bear in mind that adult werewolves are very limited in the job market. Some higher up positions just aren't available to them unless their curse is successfully hidden from all, even the Ministry. An admin can help you find a career/position that's suitable.

Sophie Carter
 Posted: May 26 2015, 03:59 PM

Character Name: Sophie Carter
Request: (Creature character, ability, item) Spell creation
Reason: One of her hobbies, to put it mildly; She has become interested since Year 3. When she remembers, she studies as much as possible about magic and the way of creating spells. She has successfullymanaged to make a spell work and she's on her way of making a few others. (or at least a second other). She's also interested in writing a book about spell-creation and all its tricks and dangers....sometime in the future.

Approved, though that would be more for after she graduates Hogwarts and goes to University.

Prima Travers
 Posted: Jul 21 2015, 07:50 PM

Character Name: Prima Travers
Request: Basilisk core wand
Reason: The Basilisk skin core wand is a family heirloom. As the only child of the 'core family', she would have inherited this wand. Its current wandwood is Alder. The wand is currently not in use, as she has her own wand from Ollivander's, but Prima keeps it in her school trunk at school by her parents' command/request.

Approved. Just be careful to remember that the wand is only as strong as the wizard. The wand also chooses the wizard so if the Basilisk core wand was originally chosen one of her ancestors and then passed down through the family then it will not work as well for her as the one that chose her (since it the Basilisk core one did not choose her, nor did she win it in a duel ).

Atreyu Cadmus
 Posted: Sep 3 2015, 02:25 AM

Character Name:Atreyu Cadmus (character sheet not yet posted.)

Request: Wand: 13 inches, sturdy, Fairy wing and dragon scale core. Elder, ebony, black walnut, and all naturally forced together by vine. Dragon claw tip, leather wrapped handle, dragon paw engraved handle securing a lightning ridge opal and clear quartz orb. (I know how this sounds and that that was probably painful to read, but please just keep reading.) (I have a picture if you want to look at this thing.)

Reason: (Warning wall of text ahead!)

Certain elements of this wand reflect Atreyu’s personality, character themes, potential, and planned personal challenges. (external locus of control, self-image issues, cooperation, when to lead and when to follow, etc…) I’ve tried to balance this wand and have done extensive research into potential properties of each component. I understand it is a very unique and unusual wand, and that it might be a bit much to ask, but I have put a lot of thought and love into this wand. I’ll to be open to any suggestions on how to improve it.

13 inches is about the average of possible wand lengths (7-18 inches), though a 13 inch wand is usually possessed by a wizard or witch with an exceptional destiny (Voldemort and Neville for example). It also has strong ties to death, one of the themes to develop this character. (not death itself, more like the concept of an underworld or otherworld.)

While not a cannon wand quality, sturdy seems to fit the feel of this wand as it is a rather thick wand. Brittle and unyielding don’t quite work. It can reflect an honest, blunt, and earnest nature.

One of the other themes used for developing this character is dragons, specifically the black kind. (*cough cough*nightfury*cough*) This theme is close to my heart so it is the prevailing theme. But the heartstring seemed too powerful and flashy for this character. Scales on the other hand, are small and can symbolize many things: Power in numbers/teamwork, strength in protection, and fortune for example. Black scales could also have ties to the night, stealth/illusions, and death.

The delicacy of faery wing would help balance the wand out. Faery wings could make wands temperamental and flighty. Very picky as wands go, making it hard to use at first. Faeries in many mythos are beings of pure magic, so this wand could be sensitive to non-verbal magic. (It’d be also pretty cool to bestow one who has mastered the wand and a number of spells with temporary wand-less, non-verbal magic of the mundane kind. Ex: first year spells like levitation of small objects for a short period of time.)

The wood choice is very unusual. Starting with Elder: This is Atreyu’s celtic sign for one. As rare as elder is, it is also said to be deeply unlucky and trickier to master than any other. Powerful, but also temperamental and subject to change masters if it feels like it. Highly unusual people work well with elder wands, usually of special destiny. It’s so rare because of its (baseless) unlucky reputation as wand makers usually refuse to make them. (Mostly because they don’t sell, because of the bad luck reputation.)

Ebony is good for transfiguration, a subject I want this character to be good at. This wand is happy with someone who has no problem being true to themselves with the courage to be themselves. Frequently non-conformist, highly individual or comfortable with the status of outsider. The wand’s perfect match is one who will hold fast to his or her beliefs, no matter what the external pressure, and will not be swayed lightly from their purpose. The black color also goes well with the design of the wand.

Black Walnut is a less common wand material and seeks a master of good instincts and powerful insight. It’s not easy to master, as it is super attuned to inner conflict. It loses power dramatically if its master practices any form of self-deception. If one is unable or unwilling to be honest with themselves or others, the wand often fails to perform very well. Paired with a sincere, self-aware owner, however, it becomes one of the most loyal and impressive wands of all, with a particular flair in all kinds of charmwork.

Now to get all these different woods into one wand one would have to force three branches of these trees together. This is where the vine comes in. It’s the force that made these woods come together. Wrapping around all three branches, turning them to one and embedding itself in the process. Vine wands are among the less common types, and their owners are nearly always those witches or wizards who seek a greater purpose, who have a vision beyond the ordinary and who frequently astound those who think they know them best. These wands seem strongly attracted by personalities with hidden depths, and has been found to be more sensitive than any other when it comes to instantly detecting a prospective match. Reliable sources claim that these wands can emit magical effects upon the mere entrance into their room of a suitable owner.

The Dragon claw tip is there because of Atreyu’s affinity with dragons. The spells are to be as if a dragon were casting them. Not to say that really changes anything about the magic or the spell. It could even be another hindrance, like a magic dampener, or perhaps it can’t be used against dragons. It could also make the wand more inclined to be loyal to its master.

The leather grip is there cause it’s cool looking and helps the transition from the pommel to the rest of the wand. Same for the dragon paw carving that holds the bling. (*more coughing*though-it’s-supposed-to-be-a-night-fury-paw*cough**hack*)

The jewel at the base also has special meaning and purpose. (Like-reminding-one-of-a-night-fury) Opal was prized by the Romans who named it ‘pederast’ meaning that it had the fresh beauty of a child. The stone can dry out and crack quite easily so they are often protected by being topped by or sandwiched between thin layers of clear Quartz. Many people consider Opal to be an unlucky stone. Possibly because it is known as the Stone of Truth, which to some people is a deadly enemy. In magic the stone can be used to remove falsehood and trickery, find that which is hidden, show the secret plots of your enemies or reveal the truth of any situation. Used in spells to bring hope, protect the innocent, and bring success to people striving towards their personal or spiritual goals. Brings strength to visions and ideas and helps you create them in the physical world. Opal should always be used with care as it can cause great harm to anyone who uses it deceitfully or for selfish and harmful magic.

Black Opal (lightning ridge opal) is considered to be the most uplifting of the Opals. It eases distress and dissolves depression and hopelessness, helping one face their darkest fears and to release that which is holding one back. Linking the Root and Crown Chakras, Black Opal connects one’s highest spiritual aspirations with one’s physical body, making it a powerful magnifier of intention and manifestation, something I want Atreyu to be good at. It is a protective stone for deep inner work. It is highly prized as a power stone for magic ritual and can be used for “reading eyes” in order to scry the truthfulness or intent of a person. Black Opal is a Storm element stone of death and re-birth, themes of the character!

Thanks for your time and consideration!

Jay Romero
 Posted: Sep 30 2015, 09:52 AM

Character Name: Jay Romero
Request: Animagus
Reason: Well he learn to master the ability to transform himself and now he wishes to teach a current Hogwarts student.

Jay has permission for his animagus ability but he'd have to clear teaching a kid to do it with Norwood and the students writer would have to apply for permission themselves.

Avery Jones
 Posted: Oct 2 2015, 03:44 PM

Character Name: Avery Jones
Request: Werewolf
Reason: Avery protected her younger siblings against a mob of youths during the summer holidays before her fourth year and one of the youths was a werewolf who changed during the attack and attacked Avery, they didn't know until later that he had bitten her.

Sorry but after looking at the numbers we can't have another student werewolf. - Maz
